About

Welcome!

The Art of Being Humane started out as a blog with the purpose of creating  a platform upon which key humanitarian issues particularly but not limited to developing countries could be voiced and the causes that don't normally get much attention could be highlighted. The concept of the blog evolved until The Art of Being Humane foundation became a registered not-for-profit organisation.

Vision

Through the creative and innovative minds / talents / skills / abilities of those willing to "be the change they want to see", our goal is to raise awareness of different issues affecting society, shining a spotlight on people in need and their issues as well as helping local organisations / institutions that are not otherwise regularly funded to raise awareness of their needs and draw the individual and companies who are able to meet their need.

Mission

Our aim is simply to provide information through story telling (visual and written stories) that will empower able people to get involved and help disadvantaged people in a practical way whenever possible.

A word from our founder

Hello! My name is Rudo Nyangulu and I am the founder of  'The Art of Being Humane Foundation (ABH)'. ABH is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to utilise, natural gifting and creative talents of those who volunteer with us to be 'the voice for the voiceless' and give those in difficult and dire circumstances 'a hand up not a hand out'. We aim to do this by developing brands and creating awareness raising campaigns as well as fundraising for charities and organisations that have purposes / aims that are changing lives sustainably.

I have a great passion for the arts and for people. My vision at the start was to to bring these two passions together to make a difference and 'be the change I want to see in the world'. Through my artistic expression as a photographer, I seek to document and highlight the plight of the world's poorest people with a view to raise awareness and generate resources to aid progressive initiatives in their communities that would mitigate their suffering and improve their living conditions. In order to achieve this I needed the right platform and so the concept of, 'The art of Being Humane' was birthed.

"The concept has evolved so much since that initial simple idea and it is continuing to grow as more and more people see the vision and join us, desiring to be the change they want to see in their world!"

'Together we can Make A Difference Where We Are!'

* The Art of Being Humane Foundation is a registered not-for-profit charitable Trust in line with the laws of Zimbabwe since 2011
